Position Overview

Pinewood Country Club, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to assist with the daily maintenance and agronomic management of the golf course. This position will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain high-quality playing conditions and ensure the course is maintained to club standards. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily golf course maintenance operations and crew supervision.
  • Perform and oversee mowing, edging, trimming, aerification, verticutting, topdressing, and other cultural practices.
  • Assist with fertilizer, pesticide, and plant growth regulator applications.
  • Monitor turf health, moisture levels, and disease pressure, reporting concerns to the Superintendent.
  • Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Safely operate and maintain golf course equipment.
  • Help train, direct, and support maintenance staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, fertilizer use, and maintenance activities.
  • Serve as acting Superintendent when needed.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and professional work environment. 

Qualifications

  • Previous golf course maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of bermudagrass management and golf course agronomic practices preferred.
  • Pesticide application license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience operating golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required. 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $40,000 - $50,000, based on experience and qualifications.
