ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT Berkeley Hall Club | Bluffton, South Carolina Private, Member-Owned | 36 Holes by Tom Fazio | Full-Time | Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent JOB DETAILS We are seeking a motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at Berkeley Hall Club. The position may be on either the North or South Course. This role requires a collaborative individual who will work closely with fellow Assistant Superintendents to maintain the standards our members expect. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will play a vital role in daily operations, staff management, and long-term maintenance planning. ABOUT US Berkeley Hall Club is a premier private golf community nestled along the Okatie River in Bluffton, SC. The property features two distinct 18-hole courses, the North and South Courses, both designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio. Both are core golf layouts with no interior homes or roads. • North Course: Tahoma 31 bermudagrass on tees, fairways, and roughs, and Champion bermudagrass greens • South Course: Fazio's classic parkland design, with TifEagle greens and overseeded Celebration bermudagrass fairways, set among live oaks and pines along the Okatie River marsh Our department is invested in technology and data, including GreenKeeper, TurfRad, USGA Deacon, and John Deere Operations Center, and is actively evaluating autonomous mowing. This position presents a unique opportunity to work on a world-class property that combines innovative agronomy and superior design. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in managing daily golf course operations, including course setup, mowing, and maintenance practices • Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance staff to ensure consistent quality and adherence to safety protocols • Monitor course conditions and implement agronomic programs to optimize turf health and playability • Oversee fertilizer and pesticide applications, sprayer calibration, and application records • Oversee irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water management and timely repairs • Work closely with fellow Assistant Superintendents to coordinate staff and manage workloads effectively • Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent on annual maintenance plans and special projects • Uphold the club's Golf Course Maintenance Standards • Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards • Assist in equipment maintenance and oversee inventory management for materials and supplies Submit resumes to Adam Miller, Director of Agronomy, amiller@berkeleyhallclub.com |
